Why materials science and engineering?

I like that our field focuses more on the fundamental science, rather than pure engineering analysis, and I also liked how versatile it is.

Focus area

Biomaterials, in the future I want to do research in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, basically biotechnology.

Materials Advantage, Galipatia living learning community Leadership Team (Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity, aka CEED).

Best thing about being a Hokie 

Not being a UVa Cavalier.
