Research

Facilities and centers
Materials Science and Engineering is constantly expanding and upgrading its research laboratories and facilities, including the reimagined 102,000-square-foot Holden Hall, our department's home. Opening in spring 2022, it will include high-tech laboratories for materials research, new computational spaces for transdisciplinary collaboration, and three new 50-seat classrooms equipped with the latest A/V capabilities.
This and our many other research facilities and centers ensure our graduates are prepared to meet the challenges of a fast-changing world that is hungry for new and improved materials.
