Selecting a minor
Many of our students complete a minor in addition to their Bachelor of Science. Minors can help you explore interests or expand your engineering or scientific understanding. Students are encouraged to meet with the academic advisor before deciding on a minor. The College of Engineering publishes a complete list of minors offered at Virginia Tech.
Changing your major
All students interested in changing their major are encouraged to visit the Career and Professional Development Office to review degree and career options. Students who wish to transfer to the College of Engineering or switch from one engineering department to another can get more information here.
Additionally, students are encouraged to meet with either a transitional advisor or the academic advisor in the new major to to find out how to transfer credits.
