Why did you choose materials science and engineering
During a freshman summer program, a variety of engineering professors presented their research in hopes of providing direction for incoming freshmen. The most memorable presentation was with Dr. Aning, where his research focused on turning food-product waste into carbon rebar for concrete reinforcement. The type of work Dr. Aning was doing was something that really inspired me, so I decided to pursue an MSE degree.
